Log Cabin, Baudin St

35”x 35” x 6”

Using the traditional block pattern 'Log Cabin' the artist seeks out notions of home and ghosts of lived experiences. Depicting reference images taken by the artist, this home in New Orleans is embroidered using solely thread with a method called 'thread painting' to conjure feelings of familiarity and nostalgia. Like all pieces, the quilt was constructed and hand quilted by the artist as well as manually embroidered while using upcycled and significant fabrics.
