Memorial Highway,

depicts intimate still lives of life in the Gulf South. Drawing from her own personal histories the artist explores narratives of addiction, loss, and economic fallout throughout her work. The places depicted act as vessels for memory, as well as moments of departure. The detail and discipline of sewing are not diminished to craft, but elevated as a contemporary medium that connects through the physical as well as the visual. The physicality of the quilts creates a familiar comfort while the visual narratives address darker moments in life.
