Star of the American Road

45” x 45”

A rusted abandoned gas station (named ironically “Star of the American Road”) and the artist’s partner fixing his truck are thread painted and sit on top of a traditional quilt star. The Star is made from upcycled and printed fabric of kudzu, an invasive vine that thrives in the American South.
