Log Cabin, Vernon Florida

23” x 23”

Using the traditional block pattern 'Log Cabin' the artist seeks out notions of home and ghosts of lived experiences. Using reference images taken by the artist, this home in Vernon Florida is embroidered using the method called 'thread painting' to conjure feelings of familiarity and nostalgia. Vernon Florida, a place of economic fallout and infamy sadly being dubbed ‘Nub city’ from an onslaught of insurance claims from forestry companies in the 50s and 60s. Like all pieces, all elements of this were solely created by the artist while using upcycled and significant fabrics.
